Columbus Yachts Unveils 80m Six-Deck Superyacht

Francesco Carbone, general manager at Columbus Yachts claimed that Columbus has adopted a new approach to manufacturing the craft by “Working in parallel and not in series”. The steel hull is currently under construction at the Palumbo Group’s Naples shipyard, and will be completed by the end of June. The hull will be moved by barge from Naples to the sister facility in Ancona, where it will be joined to the pre-fabricated aluminium superstructure. Building the yacht in two sections concurrently is expected to shorten the delivery time by 32 weeks, according to the builder.

Designed by Guida Design in conjunction with Columbus Yachts, the yacht’s interior adopts a layout devoted to comfort and convenience at sea. In addition to two garages for an additional tender and three jet-skis, amenities include a sauna, gym and cinema room. With two lateral tender garages aft, access is made more convenient by a boarding platform with direct access to the lobby and a circular glass-walled lift that connects the five main decks.

The sun deck is one of the most distinctive spaces on board, surrounded by panoramic views and featuring a 7m pool and hydro-massage tub. The upper deck is dedicated to the owners’ suite and framed by unbroken views of the horizon. Six double guest suites are located in the forward section of the main deck, whilst a seventh cabin on the lower deck can be used for last minute guests.

Penned by Guida Design in conjunction with Columbus Yachts, the interior of the hexa-deck yacht adopts a rational layout devoted to comfort and convenience at sea. In addition to two forward garages for a further tender and three jet-skis, amenities include a sauna, gym and cinema room.

Serviced by two lateral tender garages aft, access is made more convenient by a boarding platform with direct access to the lobby and lift. Starting from the lower deck and ascending to the sun deck, a circular glass-walled lift connects the five main decks.
One of the most distinctive spaces aboard, aside from the aft beach club that swells from 100 to 200sqm thanks to retractable yacht walls, is the sun deck.

Surrounded by panoramic views, the sun deck features a 7m pool with counter-current swimming system, and a hydro-massage tub.

Generously sized quarters for 19 crew fill the forward section. Crew can relax in the large galley and exclusive gym, and are connected to all other decks by a convenient service lift.
The superyacht is powered by twin MTU engines, delivering a total of 3044HP and propelling the 2015GT yacht to a cruising speed of 12kn for 6,000nm.
