LAX to Open Private Terminal for Celebrities

This month, Los Angeles International will unveil ‘The Private Suite’—a luxurious terminal for the rich and famous.

Paparazzi shots of celebs curbside at LAX might soon be few and far between. The airport, which is no stranger to the rich and famous, is set to open a new private terminal (far removed from the highly-trafficked public ones) called Th

e Private Suite on May 15. Taking luxury VIP experiences like Heathrow’s Windsor Suite one step further, The Private Suite offers members complete luxury from the car to the airplane.

“It typically takes 2,200 footsteps from car seat to plane seat. For members of The Private Suite, it’s 70 footsteps,” the new suite’s website says. And my are those 70 footsteps fancy.

Members start with pre-flight access to private super-luxe suites complete with bathrooms, daybeds, and walls-of-windows views of the runways. Each suite is attended to by eight different people, who each have an individual responsibility like managing special service requests, escorting members through security, plus an “unseen” eighth person who deals with luggage.
